The intervention funded under the PO FEAMP LAZIO program, CUP F17H20003260007, Measure 569 COD. 3/TPA/20/LA, is aimed at increasing the production capacity of Ortoetruria. This will be achieved by expanding the production of products already in the company’s portfolio.
Through the implementation of the funded project, the objective is also to improve the production process and simultaneously launch the production of new products, introducing new production cycles with modern, efficient, and versatile machinery.

The new products planned for the start of the new production line include organic fish burgers in modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) and organic breaded fish products. The latter will also be made using trimmings from the cutting process of the raw material used in the fish burger production. This approach allows the recovery and reuse of smaller portions of fish in a product with a very fine grain, where the integrity of the fish fillet is not a key quality parameter.
The packaging machine included in the BIO product production process can also be used for the packaging of other products, improving the shelf life of the finished products.
In addition to setting up the new production line and optimizing the process for seafood salad, the investment also includes the purchase of load handling systems, either electronic or assisted, aimed at reducing manual handling of heavy loads. Specifically, the acquisition of an electric forklift and manual pallet trucks is planned, with a positive impact on worker safety.

To reduce the environmental impact, the project also includes the installation of a photovoltaic solar system, which will partially cover the energy needs of the production facility.

Overall, the proposal includes a partial revamping of machinery, in order to modernize the existing production process and introduce new production cycles for the manufacturing of the new products (organic fish burgers and organic breaded fish products).
